MINUTES FROM THE EAST COURSE COMBINE MEETING OF

Monday February 2, 2004

The meeting was called to order at 19:20 by ECC president Lyle Loomis.

MINUTES FROM THE LAST MEETING:   The minutes from the meeting of 01/05/04 were read by John J Godinez.  A motion to accept the minutes was made by Sonny Cangiarella, with the second from Mike Smith. The motion passed. 

A brief discussion followed addressing the Bonita Club’s positioning of crates on the race truck as noted in the minutes just read.  President Loomis said if this was an issue, the crates could be moved around at the last pick up point.  No further action was taken.

FINANCIAL REPORT:  The financial report was read by Katy Bagu(attached).  Kathy reported a balance of  $2,480.52 in the Combine Account.  A motion to accept the minutes was made by Sonny Cangiarella, with the second by Vito Frankini.  The motion passed.

OLD BUSINESS

DUES AND CLUB ROSTERS:  Kathy informed the membership that dues and rosters must be in by February 15, 2004.

CONVEYOR’S PROPOSAL:  A proposal to haul the race birds during the 2004 race series was submitted to the ECC, by Urban Paulis.  Kathy Bagu read the particulars to the membership.

FEED FOR THE BIRDS ON THE RACE TRUCK DURNING THE LONG RACES:  Mike Smith made a motion, with the second from Sonny Cangiarella to feed the race birds milo no later than 5 p.m., the day before the race.  The motion passed.  100 lbs. of milo would be purchased.

2004 OLD BIRD RACE SCHEDULE:  Mike Smith made a motion, with the second from Vito Frankini to have the two Ehrenberg races sanctioned and count towards the points.  The motioned passed.

OLD BIRD RACE TEAM FEE:  Following an intense discussion, a motion was made by Sonny Cangiarella, with the second from Mike Smith to set the cost per race team at $250.00.  The motion passed. 

NEW BUSINESS

TRAINERS:  The race trailer will pick up trainers at .40 cents a bird.  The trainers will be released 30 minutes after the race birds.

WINNER’S RACE SHEET:  Each club must account for the winner’s race sheet/printout at the conclusion of the race.  The winning race sheet and electronic printouts will be forwarded to Sonny Cangiarella the following week, via the race conveyor. 

PICK BIRD POOL:  A pick bird pool is sponsored by Sonny Cangiarella and participation is voluntary.

ROUTE 66 RACE:  The Route 66 race will be held November 28, 2004.  Sonny will update everyone as-soon-as information is available.

RACE TRAILER:  Mike Smith reported there were two problems with the race trailer.  The first problem was with a brake line and the second problem was with the water system.  Sonny Cangiarella offered to help and asked if the trailer could be taken to the shop where he could have it checked.

ADJOURNMENT:  A motion to adjourn was made by Mike Smith.  The second came form Sonny Cangiarella.  The motion passed and the meeting was adjourned at 20:48.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday May 3, 2004.
