Minutes of 9-24-05

Sandburg Middle School

Meeting called to order by Ron at 6:30pm

In attendance:  Bonita Club, San Gabriel Valley Club, La Puente Club, Santa Anita Club, Freeway Club, and Winchester Club

Not present: Pomona Club and Palm Springs Club

Discussion on voting

When is a club member eligible to vote?

Ron Boyer is going to some research and report back with information

Kathy read the minutes of the ECC meeting on 9-11-05, MM to accept and seconded

Steve made a statement that the driver is to call him if the trailer breaks down. Lolo and Steve would be the only ones that would communicate with the driver.

                                          Kathy read the treasurers report:

                                          $2493.47 balance at last meeting

                                  +$105.00 deposit Winchester dues and crate assessment

       -$591.51 paid to Steve for water tanks and trailer cleaning

      $2006.96 balance on 9-24-05

Old Business

SGV and Lap Proposal

ECC sections: East and West sections with the division at the interstate 15

A lengthy discussion took place and a vote by clubs

LAP-yes, SGV-yes, SA-yes, Bon-yes, and Fwy-no (Proposal passed)

Diplomas

Proposal to do diplomas for 2% of the birds on the race sheet and no less than four birds in any race

All clubs voted yes

Spanish Translation

This proposal is to use a service to do translation from English to Spanish for any ECC business. This service is $39.00 a year.

 Clubs voted: yes

Race Shipping Fees

Freeway Club made a proposal to have a yearly shipping fee for all combine members at $575.00 per year.

Vote was taken: LAP-no, SGV-no, Bon-no, SA-no, and FWY-yes

New Business

Champion Bird

A discussion took place on this issue and who was to do the work involved.

This proposal didn’t pass

Teams

Each club reported how many teams were going to be shipped.

Their was a count of 53

Their will be room on the trailer since we have 56 crates

Trailer Report

Steve gave a report on the brake job that had been completed.

Brake pads were replaced and brakes serviced

Light wiring still needs repair on the trailer

Steve reported that he has the hardest job in the combine and he wants twice what the race secretary gets for Old Birds ($1200.00)

Steve also handed out the bird pick up schedule to clubs

         Steve reported that Sonny wants $100.00 a month rent for trailer storage

YB Race Fees

Steve reported that fees were $180.00 and an extra $25.00 for members that didn’t fly Old Birds

Charlie Cathel MM to increase price to $200.00 to cover gas prices and any expenses

Motion passed

Price will be $200.00 per team, $225.00 for members that didn’t fly Old Birds

Kathy made a statement that no one will ship to the first race until their payment has been made to the race secretary in their club

Make checks to the East Course Combine

Kathy said that this is the last time she will be doing the minutes for the meetings

Next meeting is in January 2006
